The Grand Hall 3D Light Show at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel is awesome and a must see. Multiple projectors fixed on the hotel’s beautiful 65-foot vaulted ceiling makes the old train station come alive with award winning imagery by Techno Media.

HISTORY
The first train pulled into Union Station on September 2, 1894. The highest traffic was during WWII and the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair…more at source: stlouisunionstation.com/about.

PHOTOGRAPHY
The show was photographed 800 times with a  14mm wide-angle lens on a Sony A camera. The photos were then added as a sequence using Premiere Pro, the Adobe Creative Cloud movie editor. The music was added in post production provided by Epidemic Sound.

Shows run on the hour from 5pm-10pm daily.

The Soldiers’ Memorial Military Museum was photographed on Veterans Day in honor for all who have served.

A 14mm wide-angle Rokinon lens was used which warps photos a bit. The warping can be fixed in lightroom, Photoshop and other photo editors but most of the time I leave the distortion in.

The Soldiers’ Memorial Military Museum is owned by the City of St. Louis operated by the Missouri Historical Society.

Angad Arts Hotel has a stunning view on the 12th-floor patio and Downtown St. Louis from the Angad is like a 3-mile light show. It’s the newest cityscape view of St. Louis with the Arch in the far background as well.

There were over 2000 photos taken on opening night – 11.01.2018.  It was raining at that time so the patio was vacant. I was equipped with my rain coat and hat along with an umbrella.

I took long exposures so I brought a tripod to keep it steady. My ISO was set at 50, the lowest setting which tends to bring out the shadows and enriches the colors as well. And I want to thank the staff for being so kind.

Angad Arts Hotel was photographed on a tripod on a romantic cold-and-rainy night on November 1st, 2018. It was opening night for the luxury hotel located in the Grand Center Arts District, the entertainment hub in Midtown St. Louis.

Over 2000 photos were taken that were all strung together for a timelapse video that featured a 12th-floor aerial view of Grand Center and Downtown St. Louis.

Steve Smith, co-developer, revived the vacant and former Missouri Theater building that closed in December of 1957. Built in 1921, this is where the Rockettes got their start and big names like Elvis Presley performed.

I love art and the Angad Arts Hotel is cutting edge. The artwork raises the bar and turns everyday things into something that excites us, prompts us to ask questions or  just makes us smile.  Bravo!

“What is art, but seeing the world in a different way….

And what is life,
but a series of experiences connected together.”
